Changing the name doesn’t affect working of the enterprise, or the personnel. Betamet Rolls is still a subsidiary entirely owned by Betamet Service, and it works in its own premises in the industrial area of Valkeala, in Kouvola.

 

Betamet Rolls manufactures and maintains spreader rolls mainly for paper industry. Additionally, among customers, there are those enterprises which need smaller rolls, as printing houses, weaving mills, and further processors of paper.

 

The turnover of Betamet Rolls was 1.1 million euros in 2008. About half of the turnover was export, mostly to Sweden, Norway, and Russia. The production is run by Mr. Jari Lindgren and seven workers. In autumn, Mr. Sauli Arvonen began working as a sales engineer of the enterprise who markets products and services of both Betamet Rolls and the entire Betamet Group.

 

Betamet Service Oy has specialized in industrial maintenance and service. Customers are paper mills, manufacturers of paper machines and other industry. The turnover of Betamet Service in 2008 was 5.5 million euros. Service employed 45 people.

 

Betamet is a Finnish group specialized in installation service and maintenance. It takes care of large and small overall orders for industry, and installation supervision all over the world. Its know-how covers many areas in industry, such as mining and steel industry, and paper and chemical pulp industry.

 

The workshop of Betamet in Oulu, has specialized in stainless steel. The subsidiary Betamet GmbH works in the area of Munich in Germany.

 

The turnover of the Betamet Group was 30 million euros in 2008, and the group employed about 200 people, in total. For more information about Betamet, see www.betamet.fi
