Betamet increases its services

 
On the 29th of February, 2008, Betamet Service Oy bought all of the shares of Suomen Teollisuustelat Oy. The enterprise bought serves primarily paper industry by maintaining, modernizing and making curved spreader rolls.
 
The company Suomen Teollisuustelat continues, with its present name, as a subsidiary company owned completely by Betamet Service, in its present premises in Valkeala. The employees continue to work as old workers. Timo Kärki, the managing director of Betamet Service, is also the managing director of the company Teollisuustelat.
 
From the 1st of March 2008 on, Lasse Broberg, the founder and main owner of the company Teollisuustelat, acts as an expert during the half-year transitional phase before retirement. Jari Lindgren, formerly the second leader of the factory, began as a chief of the factory on the 1st of March 2008.
 
Betamet deepens its cooperation with paper industry
 
Betamet Service, specialised in maintenance work in industry, concentrates, by buying the business activities of the company Teollisustelat, more deeply on maintenance of paper mills, among other things. The aim is to have synergy benefits between making and assembling rolls.
 
The business of rolls consists of product development and manufacture with testing and vibration measurement. An essential part of making new rolls and modernisation of old ones is reliable quality control and documentation.
 
Suomen Teollisuustelat Oy
 
The enterprise has been founded in 1993, and it has its own premises in the industrial area of Valkeala. There are seven workers in production. The turnover of the year 2007 was 1, 4 million Euros.
 
The number of workers is being increased by making more investments in sales and customer services.
 
Paper industry represents about 90 per cent of the turnover. Half of the turnover is export, mostly to Sweden, Norway and Russia.
 
The company Teollisuustelat makes new industry rolls with its own KA roll trade mark. The enterprise represents also products of Xperion FS Composites in Finland and Norway. Xperion makes, for example, carbon fibre industry rolls.
 
Group of Betamet Service Oy and Betamet
 
Betamet Service Oy, founded in 2001, is part of the Betamet group, and it specialises in maintenance work and service of industry. Its clients are, mainly, paper mills, manufacturers of paper machines and others in industry. In 2007, the turnover of Service was 4, 1 million Euros, and it employed 45 people.
 
Betamet is a Finnish group specialising in installation service and maintenance. It takes care of big and small overall contracts in industry and of installation supervision all over the world. Diversified know-how covers many areas of industry, such as mining and steel industry, as well as paper and pulp industry.
 
The group has its own activities in engineering industry in Finland. Workshop, situated in Oulu, has specialised in stainless steel. Last summer, the group founded Betamet GmbH in Bergkirchen, in the area of Munich in Germany. There has been demand for this service in Central Europe.
 
In 2007, the turnover of the Betamet group was 30 million Euros and the number of employees was about 170.
